My AdWords campaign shows (for the month) an avg. Pos 5.9 HOWEVER, the Ad Diagnostic tool (A.D.T) shows this: Ad not shown | Reason: Although your ad is showing, its rank is not high enough to place it on the first page of search results. I refresh and refresh and get the same "Ad not shown" result. WTF is up with this? If the AveragePosition is 5.9 (I assume that means somewhere between position 5 and 6 on the first page?) wouldn't the A.D.T surely return a positive? I have refreshed several times, during several different sessions over the last couple of days. Secondly, does anybody know how the A.D.T works? Does it just scrape the top 10 ad results from the search results (at that time) for the google you select (eg.google.com, google.co.uk) and language/region you select? (ie.does it mimmick [and scrape the Ad results from] a search and check which ads were displaying) Thirdly is there anyway of manually checking to see if your ad display? The ads are targeted to a different region to where I am based? Just I am sick of relying on these google tools which seem to show conflicting results. I believe that you used to be able to append a parameter to the search string, something like http://www.google.com/?....&IP=blah.blah.blah.blah. I have tried this with no obvious luck, anyone know what to do?
WOW, no one else ever experience such things? Come on...why are the tools saying totally differnt things to each other?
The google adwords thing isn't always correct. I'm ranked in the top ten most of the time for the keyword "electronics" and it says average clicks per day like over 1k, and i barely get about maybe 5 clicks per day from this or maybe 10. The only way to find out for sure is just type in the keyword in google and see what page its on for yourself. But be sure to wait because once you change stuff on adwords it may take up to 24 hours for the results to show, so after 24 hours check.
