We probably have all heard, that video is a fab way to get noticed online, well if your using video you will encounter a problem as Google uses its new algorithums! I had a video on Youtube and it had been on Page 1 and 2 for 6 weeks, this morning it was top of page 2, checked it 6 hours later GONE => To page 17! Does anyone know how to cope with the new algorithums? It's making a joke of all our SEO efforts and I'm getting prity pi**ed off! All the old knowledge of get backlinks doesn't work anymore, I have 40% more QUALITY backlinks than my competitors and Im on page 2 they are on page 1, why - I just don't know, but this mess up is only been caused in the past 10 days...since the new update! I've been using Social Booking - that no longer works! Article marketing, no longer works, my links are DECREASING with time, NOT increasing as they should! Share your thoughts.
Quality content, this is the primary way to rank well in search results. You need to provide more content with your videos and proper video optimization. http://www.bruceclay.com/blog/archives/2007/08/video_search_op.html
Yep so many people try tricks to get noticed but if you write great content you will not only get natural linking which will make you rank high.
Actually your filtered to lower results probably due to artificial link building you are doing. Social bookarking drives links but theyre usually irrelevant unless you own a social bookmarking site. Articles submissions same thing....done 10,000 times by others, article links = low value link. KEYWORD to use = "RELEVANT LINKS" Also if a video ranks well... then a blog with great content will be able to knock the video to lower results. Videos lack the important content ssandecki noted needs to be used. Your confusing marketing with SEO. They are two different beasts completely and not understanding that difference would seem to indicate you need additional SEO education.
There are WAY too many "SEO gurus" on DP, they all want paying upfront but promise lots, deliver little and when you look into it, you find they can't delvier. Several people who've commented in this thread, have had to refund people for alledged SEO services. Like everything in life, Sem-Advnace, you can't be good at everything...
You're right I cant sing, play pro sports, not much into astro physics, don't do golf real well, there are a lot of things I'm not good at.... SEO I excel at though and have # 1 terms listed for months & years. Refunds....every business has them....SEO is no different. However an SEO is nothing more than a lawyer....an SEO presents your case (website) to the jury (search engine). Most lawyers suck......though some are great!! Very often it is the website & webmaster who fail as opposed to the SEO. Cant get to the front page of Google with $100.00 unless its PPC. Till webmasters understand there is no free / cheap lunch.... most will fail / struggle in SEO.
geester1 perhaps it is you that is 'messing up' and not Google. lol. It's funny that people blame search engines when their rankings drop. Well guess what? Your rankings probably dropped because of something you did or didn't do. I agree with the comment about a video not having sufficient content to rank well. Search engines want text.
You know thinking about this would seem to indicate that if a video ranks well in the SERPs for a keyword term then it is probably not a very competitive term and could lead to top results for a site or blog focusing on the term. So that would seem to be another research tool for SEOs.....
True, but if it is a good video it might also have a lot of sites linking to it thus giving it authority over other sites as well. That should tell you that links, and keywords are a new majority with Google.
