WTF DP you mods need to wake up
    people getting scammed daily
i got scammed you wont ban the scammer.
but i get infractions daily for posting a post in "sites for sale" about a scammer buying sites.
i posted in there so the people selling sites would see it.
they wont see it in general chat.

i get infractions for "thread bumping" when im not i post on an old thread that my offer is still open instead of making a new post.

i get a negative itrader from the guy who freakin scammed me you wont remove it, nor ban him.
i have gotten 5 infractions in the last week for the DUMBEST FREAKIN REASONS ever.

you can keep tabbs on that but cant ban the scammers.

this board is going down the tubes.

i sell a website and the database to it. some one buys it, i post on the thread that the database is no longer for sale because i sold the site. within minutes i get an infraction for "selling something i dont own"
if you bothered to read the post you would have seen i closed it but i still got the infraction.

this is total bull sh*t! really!!
god this guy reports me for closing my own damn thread and 5 minutes later i get an infraction.

i report a scammer and 2 days later he still is not banned.

so tell me wtf is the problem here?

I feel your pain... and have similar gripes... but I imagine with a forum of this size and the lack of administration here... its hard for our unpaid volunteer mods to keep up with everything that happens here. And I am sure for every scammer that is banned... there would be 2 more to replace that one.

Although to simply do nothing about scammers might just get Shawn yet another date with a judge. As a host... I know I legally must take responsibility against any scamming attempts hosted on any of my servers... otherwise they pull the plug on my boxes and I could end up in court.

I have a website of my own and I had no idea about that.

Hey have you chatted with a mod or sent a pm to one of them to try and clear this up?

Luckily... I haven't been scammed here (yet)... and I want to stress... let's not confuse a "sPammer" with a "sCammer".

Spamming falls into the same legality as copyright theft... which according to my datacenter's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)... is a 24 hour issue.

Scammers are much more serious! This is elevated to an 8 hour issue and covers the likes of child porn links, hacking, phishing, and fraud (which is exactly what the OP has experienced)

Yes it's unfortunate that we can't be everywhere at once. There are thousands and thousands of members, and only a small handful of active moderators.

The best we can do is deal with the reports when we can. We don't have scammer radar, so we can only handle the issues after they occur.

I know scamming is a serious matter, but I did find the title amusing--asking the mods to "wake up" when the OP's name is "nodder". :)

The thing is forum software is not meant for selling or buying. Other then post count, repuation points and maby familiarity, there is not way to tell if the person your dealing with is legit. so just be carefull. If the person has 1 or 5 posts probably not a good idea to be dealing with them.

You should know that any deal done on the forum is between you and the other user. DP or any webmasters forum doesn't have anything to do with it. If you got scammed, you should have been careful. This is why forums have itraders and see the itrader of the buyer/seller before buying/selling something.

You must understand, transactions in the forums are private transactions, as mods there isn't much we can do. If the scammer did not break our rules, we can't ban out for something that had happened in private. In Internet transactions, caveat emptor. You deal at risk.

Also have checked your infractions, I am sorry to say that all the infractions are well deserved. Do obey the rules and you won't be getting them.
