My earnings for the last 3 days have been the highest so far this month for one particular site. Must be your niche.
Earnings normal as always this past 10 days, there was 2 weeks before that where i was making more than $90 less but now its back up stable paying about 3.7 cents per click
Just the opposite for me... I've been getting lots of 1.00+ clicks... It is so much that I am disappointed when I get 60c clicks.
Yes, I too have noticed a drop in both CTR and eCPM figures. I own a large medical website. Earlier on in the month we were achieving higher click rates yet much lower payments (as a few of you have commented). Then towards the end of the month the CTR has dropped to its lowest for around 6 months. I think it is just a case of advertisers spending the last of their yearly budgets towards the end of last year, which saw excellent figures. Then the New Year drop off happened as people planned their budgets to work over the following 12 months. I am putting the CTR drop off down to less advertisers meaning less highly targeted ads. I was hoping it might pick up today as it is the start of the month. But alas, it hasn't.
Sunday, January 28, 2007 is when my earnings went from $25-30 a day to $10-15 a day. Same amount of clicks, just getting .08 cents a click instead of .19. This is really getting on my nerves.
question to all complaining: did you comply with Googles most recent wish for ad placement and ad formats ? .. like 300x250ATF plus custom chaqnnels targetable ?? the dates you mention here in this thread just is the same date we all converted our sites to the new upgraded layoout and those who did went WAY up in ad efficiency, ctr and $ all others of course get less now it appears that larger successful advertisers want to focus on more precise targetable placments to get higher %/$ as well ... makes sense to me at least that they are willing to pay more to those who can bring more clicks=more customers=more profits may be try it yourself - its work but work before profit is normal as to your "I own a large medical website." that would sound to me like a potential site for precise implementation of G wished formats and placments ... if by large you mean large site traffic ... see http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2230922
Hans to a point i agree with you.. Earlier my Leaderboard used to pay well..but suddenly my 300*250 inside post ads are paying me better. I was also thinking whats the change? But now i got it.. They are now preferring 300*250 over other formats. If this is true..then its high time to switch to it. But somehow i cant get this ad over the fold. Its just looks crap Hans, can you suggest something for my blog? My blog is in my sig. Thanks in advance
I can see that advertisers might prefer that format however I have two sites that run the 300x250 ads placed above the fold in the content and my last 3 days i have only earned 50 -60% of my norm.
https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=17955 here you find G's official current most successful formats these change whenever the advertiser market changes hence it is well worth to have a look every few months or so and to reduce workload when changing all pages for those who have flat files - it is advisable to use SSI for assense - that saves time when format changes are needed again good luck
I thought thas was the reason, but now we are on a new month, and I'm still getting aprox. 75% of normal income for same clicks number.
Feb second and the earnings were still bad yesterday. Today I'm getting only .02 cents more per click than yesterday
My adsense earnings have doubled and gone up for the past 7 days except for yesterday they were down slightly. Doing great so far today.
