WTF Comment Spam within hours of setting up blog

    Only a couple of hours after a new wordpress installation I get comment spam on the blog. This is before doing any kind of promotion on the site.

    How can this be so?

    The spammers just found it :D
    No other plausible explaination

    yep thats life, i had that happen to a few of my older blogs, install a spam filter asap.

    I'm not too sure why it happened but unfortunately the spammers are smart
