Honestly, I'm not sure if has SO much to do with t he economy. Adsense has slowly been going down the drain for quite some time. I started experiencing the decline 2-3 years ago when the economy was doing just fine.
The economic conditions combined with the holiday season is to blame, it's not that adsense is cheating you out of profit. Also to the poster on top of me, the economy wasn't doing amazingly 2-3 years ago either, but we're really feeling a lot of effects now since the economy just went down the drain. I lost 250k alone.
The only real way for publishers to "band together" is for them to move to a competitor. Otherwise, Google doesn't owe you anything.
It is easy to understand, Google's share has dropped more than 50% -> so sure they will decide to pay out less to save
it's not the advertisers fault. i am betting google change the earnings system. the closedness of the adsense system has been unpopular with many publishers all along and this crisis has just shown us why.
Same Problem Here. Earlier I was earning upto 18$ per day at my Technology Blog - Tech Thunder But now it dipped to less than 12$ WTF?
I would be thrilled if I came close to that in a day with adsense, but I see your point. When the economy is bad everything is bad.
Mine is growing everyday.... i think its the traffic.... the more traffic i get the more i make.. Ani
You are not the only one here. These few days were very bad. The same number of clicks but the pay per click was much too low.
Its very simple to understand. Companies are failing everyday...and the ones that have not failed, are cutting Ad budgets. Less money in Ad budgets means less advertisers using Adwords or spending as much with Adwords. Less advertisers using Adwords equals less revenue for Adsenseless publishers. Less money for Adsenseless Publishers equals less money for you and me...... Very simple.......
ALL MFA ads disappeared ( at least from my site ) all trash product ads as well all traffic strongly UP by some 37% overall revenue accordingly UP by some 10% compared to same period last year what was valid for November also is valid for these ongoing pre-xmas days all proportional to efforts and value of content in relationship to global human needs ...> I just increased weeks ago from one dedicated server to 3 dedicated server to meet demand for increased quality and expansion of content and growth of traffic! to all those whining : buy a bunch of tissue cry a while then review and find out WHO you are and what / how you are expected to live then kick your own butt and start working for real at least once in your life change your niches meet needs - organic basic human needs become expert in that need - start to create solutions, fix problems, solve problems of other people, provide solutions online and in real life share MORE of your revenue with others to make sense to earning money and give value to earning more be ready to work day and night - 18-24 hrs, 24/7/365 forget all easy money for the entire rest of your life learn ot ENJOY real work and success start to MAKE happy ... others - and let the sun for OTHERS go up in their lives to learn that all you do to others always bounces back to you - also all good stuff
I just think regular visitors started to learn how ads are looking and they wont click anymore because they dont understand we need funds to maintain our websites
This is true. I stopped using adsense a earlier this year because the rev was dropping. I sold my sites while the rev was high enough to get good money for them. Also, good on you for not checking your adsense 4 times a day like a lot of people on here
stickman had it right a few posts back: I would add that every XMas I generally see a lower CTR across ALL of my niches. I have said it before and don't mind saying it again: if you want to count on Adsense for income, you have to accept that your CTR and eCPM will vary, which can have a dramatic impact on your income. So try to plan ahead, dreading but anticipating occasional low CTRs & 2 cent clicks. Budget accordingly. I think the situation will improve early in the New Year. Good luck all! tasty
I've had more trouble in the last week. The first thing I did was remove 2 out of 3 ad blocks. I figure make the remaining advertisers pay more per bid to appear on the website.
