[WTB] Someone to set up a PPTP VPN Server $$ [ASAP!]

Discussion in 'Web Hosting' started by pseudonym, Dec 18, 2008.

I have a Gentoo Linux dedicated server with Webmin control panel and 50 IPs attached. This is a fresh install.

I need to turn this machine into a PPTP VPN server (PoPToP?) with usernames/passwords on the IPs and firewall configured to allow all connections.

I think this is easy for someone who already has the knowledge!

Paying a good price for this so reply here or PM and I will get in touch with you immediately!

This guy Magicworld charges $100 just for installing pptp?????? This guy is a ripoff. Another guy on this forum can do it for only $30-$45 depending on the operating system. Installing openvpn would cost more but PPTP is even cheaper.

I'm already doing it...It is still alot of work though, since tun isn't in the kernel, and it is requiring a rebuild. I do agree that $100 is a bit much though.

I will bet $1000 if I start the server (fresh install) and copy/paste every line from that guide it will not work.

So, I am still looking for someone!

Still looking for someone, come on! $$$

PS: this is not just a job of Googling "pptpd howto" and then copy/pasting 10 lines from, ie, http://wingloon.com/2007/11/06/pptp-server-installation-in-centos-5/ . If it were that easy I would have done it myself!

The problem that has caused 13 so-called "experts" to fail at setting this up is related to iptables and firewall rules to allow remote clients to use the internet through the VPN connection. That kind of knowledge is not included in Google howto's, and apparently even the "experts" are unable to get it done.

Looking for someone who can really do it!
