[WTB] I need to a programmer to create a 3D Java/Flash broswer based MMORPG.

I need a 3D game programmer. (You are not required to know both Java and Flash, you just need to know one programming language,either Java or Flash, is fine with me. )

to create a either 3D Java(or Java openGL) based MMORPG, or Flash(using Adobe Shockwave and Director MX) based MMORPG (Massive Multi-players Online Role Play Game)for me.

must have extensive knowledge of java and java 3d or java openGL, and be able to code for a multiplayer server such as raw-fish Software's SUSHI (google). Must have some examples of 3d java applications and verify that they are your own, Show that you can make your 3d applications interactive, and that the way we work, I can give you drawings(Very Detailed drawings) and you can convert it into 3d Java.
Or if you knowledge is not focused on Java, then you must have extensive knowledge with Director MX and Adobe Shockwave,

The current most 3D MMORPGs need a downloadable client script. But 3D Java based or Flash based MMORPG does not need a downloadable client script, they can be played on the computer directly, hence they can be called browser based MMORPGs.

I have an example of Flash based MMORPG is http://www.maidmarian.com /
which uses Adobe Shockwave script and Director MX to create the game.

The example for Java based MMOPRG is www.runescapeonline.com.

The game theme would be about everyday fantasy life in a civilized world, something like secondlife.com, or maidmarian.com, players can dance, drive a car, playing sports, buy/sell or trade land, build a house, trade stocks, do investment, go fishing, open a company, sight-seeing, project training, do contest, but no fighting.

If you can do it , please create a brand new MMORPG for me. I do not need to clone other mmorpgs, but certainly you can make some similar but not exactly the same things.

Answer: I love Director and even with it's challenges over the last few years, I've found no other product that can deliver hardware accelerated 3D multiplayer games to a large install base of users on a web-page.

You're going to need a company or development team behind you to do something of this nature, especially if you're expecting it to be good enough for people to want to play.

You can't expect an individual to create something on the same scale as games like maid marian. Programmers, designers, game testers etc are required for such a project.

I hope you have deep pockets.

People are used to think that only big companies(e.g. Vivendi.com etc.) which has big pockets can create major MMORPGs.

Not any more. Now only one man can create a major MMORPG. It all depends on whether you have such skills and vision.

People need to open their eyes, and change their mindset.

That is a great interview - I like to hear about successful one-geek shows!

 

So that person has to know flash, php, Java, etc and to be a good designer. It is possible but I look very skeptical to those people who know everything.

It is NOT required to have programmers to know both java and flash. Each programmer just needs to know either Java or Flash to make a MMORPG.

An example of Java based MMORPG, runescape.com, (it has nothing to do with Flash(using Direcotor MX or Adobe Shockwave)

An example of Flash based MMORPG, maidmarian.com (it has nothing to do with Java.)

Now I prefer to Java based MMORPG to Flash based MMORPG, because Java can be run on multi-operating systems.

Hence the programmer I am looking for just needs to know Java and openGL to make a MMORPG for me.

 

Say maidmarian.com website has 7 chapters in total. I think that if you can create 3-4 chapters of MMOPRG, that would be fine with me.

Hence a medium scale of MMORPG is enough for me.

 

What is your budget?
