    Hi Nathian,

I have tried contacting you both by PM and email without success.

Would you be kind enough to contact me regarding past work I have done for you.

    Kind regards,

    David

    ATTENTION WRITERS

Be aware. My advice is do not undertake any writing work without payment UPFRONT.

You will find, as I have, that some clients start off by paying and with all good intentions then you start to do more and more work on account. You think you have built up a good working relationship. Then the client runs out of money, or is a scammer, and doesn't pay you. The client then moves on to, most likely, do the same to other writers.

I have lost my money now despite many polite reminders. You will get ignored as I have. There are scammers on here and I feel that you should keep your wits about you. You work hard for your money don't let them have it for free.

I don't know how they have the brass neck to come on to the same forum and do it again.

    The voice of experience..

I have paid upfront for writing before and never got anything back. It goes both ways. I have been offering a deposit and payment in full upon delivery with writers I have never worked with. I don't mind paying upfront with writers I have a relationship with and I know will deliver. I'm sorry you had such an unpleasant experience.

    Hi,

Thank you for your thoughts. I do realise that this can be a buyer and seller issue. I guess I was illustrating my own personal experience as a writer with this particular person. I have had a scam attempt on here as a buyer too. Luckily PayPal issued a refund.

I have to say that I have written content for many clients and this is the first time I have have had any payment issues. It just sparked me up to see him advertising for further writers when still owning me money.

I have given him the benefit of the doubt over many months via email when eventually, after pleading poverty, he just ignores me.

This why, I feel, that I should go public and warn others to be careful but this, as you quite rightly say. applies to both buyer and seller.

It's a pity we cant have either a list of members to steer clear of, but I see this could become a witch hunt; or some way of putting payment into a holding position until both sides are happy but I guess this could be too complex to police and open to mis-use.
