There are many promotional & marketing offers here and some people say don't buy this, buy that so I'm getting confused.

I want to overhaul my site and I'm ready to pay for it. (www.bittersense.com)At the moment it's a auto-update tech news site and I bought 2 years ago did little marketing. I'm not earning any money out of it and I don't want to let it die. Site is not sandboxed but I'm getting very little traffic from google.
