Could you remove the icons in the menu and just have it look something like this?

Could you move the light blue background up so that it would be higher like this?

I'm not sure about the box you're quoting. Which box you want to be removed?
Also for the top menus, do you want them to be scalable in future?

I want the design to be flexible enough such that I could add more menu items.
Right night if I add another menu item, the graphic will prevent me from doing so.
