.ws names. Any point in getting one?

What are your views on the .ws domain extension? Is it worth it?

I personally cant remember ever visiting a .biz .us ,ca .asia .ws or .in.

Found a good .ws name but just sure if theres any point.

 

One point you should note: You can't transfer .ws from one registrar to other...

 

Unless it's a top premium keyword .ws name or a great domain hack, I wouldn't waste my money registering it.

 

First, .WS - Don't go to GDI

I personal have more than 100 .ws (10% in ASCii and 90% are IDNs)

 

I operate a network of Christmas related websites, more than 30+ and more than ten years into it. A couple of years back I bought two keyword .ws domains and developed small sites with them thinking that if I could get indexed high for those keywords it would draw traffic to my main sites.

It worked.

These niche sites aren't much but they have proved useful to me and I will keep them and likely develop more .ws sites for other keywords that I have in the future.

 

Maybe is not a good extension, but you can try. Usually people in forums don't like .ws domains because many affiliates of GDI are spammers.
