I was just planning to start a niche site, the domain is available in the .ws extension and the .info extension..
I don't want to register these tlds, as I feel the backlink giver may treat my site as a spam site of MFA..what do you suggest..?

No actually..I have seen, even myself, when someone asks for a backlink to his .biz site or .ws site, I feel it must be a spam site or a MFA...

I'll disagree with you on the point of .biz or .ws being MFA. A site cannot be classified as an MFA until you see what is inside it. Yes the url does give some kind of indication- if you see three hyphens and some high paying keywords separating the hyphens, you could almost certainly say it is an MFA. .info's do tend to come under this category, because they are amongst the cheapest to buy.

If I had a singleword.ws, I wouldn't classify it as an MFA. If the site was genuinely good, there is no reason why I wouldn't give it a backlink

Your best bet would be to try and get a hyphenated version in dot com or even dot net.
