Hey, I really usually just stick with .com's, and occasionally .net's, .org's, and .info's. I know these country extensions like .ws and .cc aren't even close as good as the above ones, but I have a couple questions about them. 1.) Is it ever good to buy one? I'm really wondering if you find a good keyword name that you may want to make a site for. The other day I registered guitar.ws. I may make a little guitar site for it. But would it be better to go with a longer .com domain? Like for example "supercoolguitar.com" Which would be better, the short .ws, or the longer but way more recognizable .com? 2.) My second question is which is better .ws or .cc? Both or two letter country-code domains, and when I search for general keywords, sometimes I see the .ws available and the .cc unavailable and sometimes vice versa. I guess it could be answers this way, if you found a good keyword available in both, like food.ws and food.cc. And you could only register one of them for some reason, which would you pick, the .ws or the .cc? Which would be better to go with? Thanks.
WebSite and Creative Commons are good domains and worth buying them .cc is better for seo It`s all that I know
It seem .cc is popular than .ws domain "Which would be better, the short .ws, or the longer but way more recognizable .com?" -> The important thing is how you promote your site ! It's my opinion.
If you are looking to buy a single word .ws like guitar.ws than I'd say it is better than 2 or 3 words domain .com If you are looking to buy domains and sell them later w/o developing than not all single word .ws/.cc domains have a good value, most of them are reg fee. Good luck
Their good for development. Google sees them both as "global extensions" since their countries are so small. Guitar.ws is most likely worth $xxx if you were to sell it, because it's an amazing short keyword. It holds value, I'm surprised you found it at reg fee.
I've got realstate.ws I reckon the fact that it's "real state" and not "real estate" is a bigger issue than the .ws/.com issue. That said, if you are promoting your site on radio or giving the email to people over the phone you might get sick of having to explain the extension so consider which might be easier from that perspective. If it's purely from a search engine point of view, I don't think it matters.
.cc is better, .ws is risky , there is no country called Western Samoa, was in the past. Samoa, officially the Independent State of Samoa (formerly known as Western Samoa and German Samoa). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samoa
I prefer to keep .ws instead of .cc, primarily due to renewal fee. .ws cost less than $9.00 and .cc cost around $18.00. Many are dropping .cc due to high renewal fee, I even dropped kind of .cc domains that received $XXX last year, later not find a single buyer even for $X, i have one .ws affiliate website callingcards.ws. Cheap Calling Cards and looking forward to reg more domains that i can covert them into affiliate sites.
Both are garbage extensions. I would never consider either if I were to make a serious website...if it were just for another article/adsense site, that's another story.
Here is an answer: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=cd+covers&aq=f&aqi=g10&oq=&fp=250f6443bc2460ad The 3rd is a .to domain It's more about the site not the extension.
For SEO i think better is .com, even longer, but if you want to have your business site or just some website for yourself, i would rather pick guitar.ws than supercoolguitar.com. Of course, guitar.com would be best, hehe. I own DomainBroker.ws, and Brokerage.ws......and if i would like to turn them into website, i would have website under great domain name.......those names in .com version would cost fortune.
