Wrong wording is showing up in Google. Different to what I have written in the header tag?

    Instead of saying 'Bed & Breakfast' etc the wording in Google is 'homebuttonnormal' which is the name of an image. So it must be linking to the wrong thing? The header is meant to say 'Bed & Breakfast Drymen by Loch Lomond on the West Highland Way' Thank you

    <img id="homebuttonnormal" class="f-x2" src="http://www.mulberrylodge.co.uk/Resources/home_button_normal.png" alt="homebuttonnormal">
    Code (markup):
    I'm guessing that Google is using the "alt" attribute of your home button as it's guide to what your site is about. Change the "alt" value to the text you want and eventually Google will catch up.

    The other place Google will get the info from is the title tag - but you only have the word Index in there.

    You appear to have built the site using this software: http://www.softpress.com/freeway-pro/
    It's new to me but their site says
    Yet you have no H1, H2 attributes in your site, it's all plain paragraphs.
    I'm all for wysiwyg systems that make it easy for anybody to create their own site - it's how most of us get started - but software that totally disregards the conventions of SEO isn't worth using.

    You title on the page still says Index so I imagine Google is hunting around for something else to say.

    Because the styles are "unconventional" it's probably having a hard time working out what is important on the page and it's somehow worked out that the heading on your homepage says "Home"

    I'd get rid of that heading - it's ok to have on the menu but on the actual page it should be a more direct statement about who you are - and that's just from a marketing perspective, not an SEO perspective. I'd love to see that heading to be something like "Peace, Tranquillity... Mulberry Lodge"

    Will the software allow you to use H1, H2 style headings? Have a dig around and see. It's really important for your headings that Google can see them clearly. A quick rule of thumb is that on any page you can have 1x H1, 2x H2, 3xH3 etc.

    Hey! Thank you again!! The problem is the software has been discontinued so I have to edit everything using code now which I am not that experienced with. Now it just says home. Going to try a few more things that you suggested. Thanks so much for your help!
