Hi, After contemplating a lot and after thinking upon a few days, I decided to start a thread of this type. Here I want to discuss the wrong thinking of DP members. Although many DP members are wrong while post in a thread but here I want to discuss only one particular topic. This is the problem I want to discuss here: Most of the DP members look another member a scammer when it is get banned. But it does not mean that if a member get banned then he have scammed someone. Is there a mechanism established on DP, that a scammer will get banned... Huh! I am really depressed by reading such a posts. A banned member may be banned for one or two day only and due to a small reason like bumping the thread, and when you write about his get banned in his threads, that he is a scammer then it is very difficult for him to trade in that thread. On the other hand, Mods do not ban anyone if someone complaints that he has done a scam. There are so many other reasons if a person get banned - Infractions - More than One Account - Posting in a wrong thread. - Bumping etc. So, here I want to ask to change the theory and the thinking. Do you also think so? What do you think, Am I Right or Wrong ??
Hello Kerosene He says that People are of the notion that banned members are all scammers.In simple terms, they are banned as they scammed someone. This eventually makes it difficult for them to trade subsequently. He wants to change this perception of people... @ OP may be you are right, may be not.
Well I don't think so all members thinking in same manners, I think almost 95% people banned here because of 7 days rules or collecting Infractions Points. But it also a fact that scammer sometimes use this rules to his favor too as he knows posting anything silly in PR section will lead him permanent banned and we had a example of KingofKings.
A simple solution to fix this would be to have two separate ranks for banned people. One rank for "Temporarily Banned" and the other rank for "Permanently Banned." Then people will realize that scammers don't get temporarily banned.
I agree it would seem that it is a popular misconception that BANNED on DP means you could be a scammer It seems to me that BANNED can be obtained very simply for example if you do an incorrect post in Buy Sell Trade you can get an automatic Ban Its cleary stated at the top of the thread but still a lot of people miss it. I have been negotiating with people to buy links then suddenly the get banned under this rule are then temporarily unable to communicate and some DP memebrs immidiatly start yelling scammer. Clarification of the time out would IMHO be helpfull like SIN BIN for a minor infraction and BANNED if its permanent
People are banned when they break the rules. And no, we won't add further details about bans. It's each member's responsibility to make sure there's a way customers and / or potential customers can reach them off-DP if they have questions. The banned member is the ONLY one who can tell you why they were banned. As far as DP is concerned, it's no one else's business.
