I created a new website and 2 weeks ago I launched on the internet

In the same time I created the sitemap and added to my google sitemap account.

I also started to add the website to various website.

My sitemap account is reporting at this time 2 links to the website. So the website is linked

For the first week everything was fine all the website was indexed, with good ranking in google for some keywords.

But after a couple of days only the first page remained in the google index.

Is this because my sitemap strategy or no ? Should I remove the sitemap file ?

It depends on many factors including whether your sitemap contained bum data like all pages with top priority, lastmod of "now". Other than that, the sitemap wouldn't be causing issues, but it could be with your site itself... bad 404's are at the top of a long list of ranking mistakes.

Other than looking at your site for possible errors, this looks normal for Google on a lot of sites. You'll likely come back into the game over time if there aren't any serious errors with your site.

AutoMapIt checks your site for many types of spidering errors and would be able to tell you if any of your pages have specific problems... plus create your sitemaps and ping the search engines for you, plus... a whole lot more stuff. Or give me your domain and I can try to sniff out any errors on my own.
