I have been doing seo for five years now, I have had multiple sites and many were included in forum sigs, posts etc.. many were not. I have added and removed sites from forum sigs. In the past year or so these changes have made no difference in my sites placement. However, there are benefits and forum links don't hurt IMHO. example, forum links allow for quick indeing of new sites/pages. Also in the proper context under the right topics they can bring you some extra traffic. As far as I can tell that is the only benefit. I retract my comment about them being completely "worthless" They are though mostly insignificant.
Hi, Is there a prize ??? I didn't read the whole thread . Sorry . About the name , When I was registering , I first did with just "farishtaey" . Forgot password and the email that I used was so spammed that I left it so couldn't recover the pass . Then I created another account with this name and now I see the benefit ! Regards jeet
Oh here's what happenned . I had like 4 or 6 threads opened in "new windows". I was reading one thread and meanwhile went to another while second page of the original loaded . Instead of returning to the one I was reading , must have landed on to the "next" pages of this thread . Mixed all up . My fault . Regards jeet
Why not put a html page on your website and link to it when you want to show the "Updated" list ? Would be easier to manage for you. Regards jeet
Thanks for the suggestions and offers guys. It's really not a big deal, it's merely a notepad item that's easy enough to add a name and date to ... for the time being anyway, however another method may be necessary for subsequent runnings of this; thanks
I'll try to write a simple php script running with a mysql db to achieve this got an exam this week so when i'll get finished with it, I'll try to do it.. good for the next update contest

When the update is visible on toolbarqueries.google it's considered "official".
Yes, and that's a very good point. As it's possible for a few dozen of us to see dozens of different "starts" of the update, it was decided that went it was "toolbar-wide" and hence viewable by all, that would be "the date". Thanks for asking, that will help clarify for others too.
Ok. Anyway i think this is the best way to go trough with this. Otherwise, as you already said, people would just bounce their heads off with the update flux, on all those tens of DC's
