I like writing, I want to write a book but I wouldn't be able to reach the word count. I'm kind of tempted to start a personal blog, just to jot down my random thoughts and ideas and stories, but I don't know the best way to do it. A micro-blog would be the best way I suppose, because my posts wouldn't all be huge. Also, nobody would read it. What do you like writing? Can you offer me any tips on how to get all of my thoughts written down in a way that counts?
Just follow your dreams, a blog would be a great start to your adventures and steps towards a book. Just put together a book over a few years and you could come up with somthing great. ~ Slutz ~
I wrote a bit of a Sci-Fi paper some months ago but I stopped as I have a writers block at the moment My advice to you is to write whatever you feel you want, and at the end go over the entire text and change whatever you don't like and the following actions that are based on what you've changed. Repeat the process until you feel that it's all good
Some of my blog posts are pretty big. For those I usually have to start by typing key words, phrases and ideas first and then flesh them out afterwards. Otherwise, the post is just to long to create easily. For example, for a recent post about the Kiva automated robots that Zappos uses in their warehouse, my notes are: * quiet, serene - traditional conveyors, carousels, forklifts, noisy * quicker training time cuts down from 4 days to half a day * storage efficiency (zappos claims 80% better) Then, I build the paragraph by adding in the details.
I love writing myself and one hint I can give you is if you ever get an idea, write it down right away on whatever you can find and jot down everything that comes to your mind. Oh and I would not personally bother so much with trying to get to a certain word limit - just as long as the content make sense and to the point then readers will be interested in it.
