Writing & Submitting Articles

I am having trouble fully understanding the best operations and procedures for writing articles and submitting them around the web.

I am hoping that people might be kind enough to answer some of my questions and provide some advice.

As a bit of background information, I have been writing roughly one article a week, which i post on my blog, and also submit it to about 3 other article directories. My articles are about 150 words and they contain about 7 hyperlinks on average. The problem I am having is that it is time consuming. Not so much writing the article, but submitting it to each individual directory. Some directories require it in different formats, and i find whenever I simply copy and paste the article the formatting stuffs up, or it doesnt recognise all the code fully.

    So my questions are:

What is the best way to physically write articles that include hyperlinks and copy and paste them into other directories?

What is the quickest way to submit articles?

Any Advice for getting around issues regarding different directories not recognising certain code?

Is it best to circulate 1 article to many directories, or is it best to try and submit many articles to the one directory?

Any further tips for quick submission?

Thanks for taking the time to help me and if there is anything i can do for you, please let me know.

    Cheers

Well for starters, 150 word articles will not get you very far in article marketing. The bare minimum for Ezinearticles.com (one of the most popular if not the most) is 250 words. My articles average 400-500 usually. Directory requirements aside, people generally prefer 400-500 word articles since it provides more information yet still is not that long.

Seven hyperlinks in the article? While if you host the articles on your own site and blend the articles within the article I suppose this is not an issue, but again, directories usually allow links only in the resource box, and some have a limit as to how many links you can have. Ezinearticles.com is 2, and most directories have character limits in the resource box.

    Anyway, to answer your questions:

I simply write my article in a Microsoft word document, and since all my links are in the resource box I just write the HTML code in the document so it can be copied and pasted when needed.

There are article submission services and software available if you are will to spend any money. However I personally have never relied on automated article submission, so I just do it all by hand. Since it's mostly copying and pasting for me I can submit articles rather quickly to my directories of focus.

Some directories will have their HTML formatting different. You will just have to deal with this and accommodate your articles for said directories if you incorporate HTML into your article. I never have this problem since my article is just a raw text file.

I used to focus on submitting my few articles to as many directories as possible, but not so much these days because I knew I'd never get a visitor from any of those smaller unknown directories. These days I concentrate more on writing articles and submitting them to maybe 20 or so major directories that I know of. But if you want the best of both worlds, submit many articles to many directories if you have the time.

Hope this helps out. Good luck

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it.

I see your point about 150 words being a bit short. I am yet to fully understand the purpose of articles.

Is it more effective to write articles for the purpose of building up backlinks, or is it more effective to write articles for the purpose of trying to get people to read the information and click through to the website?

I think i need to sort out my priorities and establish exactly what it is that I want to achieve by writing articles. Any advice to help me sort out my priorities would be appreciated.

Formatting hyperlinks is the most difficult thing when it comes to writing articles for me, because each platform views them in a slightly different way. I will definetly look at cutting down.

Can someone please help me with the purpose of "Resource Box" and "Writers Biography" What information am i meant to be putting in these sections, and where abouts does it appear. Above the article, below the article?

Also, if they ask for a preview of your article (A couple of sentences), I have been basically putting my opening paragraph there. Is this common practice? In my article section, do i then repeat the opening paragraph or do i leave it in the preview.

Thanks for all your help, mcuh appreciated.

The "preview" of your article should be like an abstract- A basic overview of the article itself.

As far as why you should write articles, you should always write them with at least the slight notion that someone will be clicking through to your site/splash page. Otherwise, there are far better ways to build backlinks for your site.

There are thousands of article sites out there, but you should ignore most of them. Submit to the top 5 or 6, and change your article around for each. If you do this enough you'll build up some nice backlinks, but more importantly you'll get plenty of clickthrough traffic to your site.

I use private label articles and rewrite them with content solution (Pm me if anyone needs this service), then I submit hundreds of readable unique versions with article post robot.

ezinearticles.com and searchwarp.com are best article direcories to grab top ranking on Google for particular keywords. And keep them on the top ranking.
