I have a personal website that I am looking to expand the content of as I simply don't have the time to write at the moment. I thought therefore it would be fun to launch a writing contest and test the writing talents of DP members!

To enter simply do the following:

    1. Create an Article that complies to the Article Submission Rules on my website
    2. Ensure that the article is about CATS in a relevant way
    3. Submit the article to me via PM

The prizes for this contest are:
    1st Prize - $20
2nd Prize - 125x125 banner space on Love Your Cat for 2 months
3rd prize - 125x125 banner space on Love Your Cat for 1 month

If you note in the article submission rules, the article only needs to be at least 250 words long so that's potentially 8 cents per word for the winner!

The articles will be graded on the following areas:
    • How well researched the article is
    • Syntax and flow of the article
    • Spelling, punctuation and grammar (US or UK is okay)
    • Keyword density (not too much not too little)
    • How well the writer has covered their chosen topic overall

You can choose your own titles just make sure they are cat related (cat health and pain relief is preferred but not essential and you will not be penalized for any other cat topics). Please also choose keywords and tell me which keywords you are using in the article.

Lastly but not least, make sure your article complies with the advice and guidance of www.loveyourcat.info and I will be sure to leave feedback for everyone who submits!

    Now for the blurb....
All articles submitted must be 100% unique and will become my sole property upon submission and all rights will belong to me. I reserve the right to choose multiple articles, to publish or to refuse to publish any given article and publishing does not necessarily denote winning a prize in this contest. Should the contest not produce at least 4 satisfactory articles that comply with the Article Submission Rules I reserve the right to indefinitely extend the contest.

Contest ends exactly one week from now!

Although very factual this article has no meaning. It has lots of information in it but it's not researched properly with no aim or title for the article it tells us nothing at the end of the day.

Non existant. No flow, not natural writing. A quick search on google reveals most of it is copy and paste material for example from wikipedia. This is not unique, and not researched content.
Again, use of punctuation and grammar is poor to say the least due to it being a mish mash of poorly strung together copy and paste material. Spelling is probably only accurate because it is copied.

No keywords have been targeted or included.

There is no topic for this article. It has no purpose, it needs a title, unique content and research.

    Suggestion:
Rewrite the article in your own words and with a title in mind. Include keywords and an overall aim for the article information.

Not a good start! I'd like to see more serious entries please!

A sensible and proper article. The topic does not allow for much in depth research but all advice given is sensible and still relates to the reader.

Properly written with a natural flow and good syntax use included.

Overall a well put together article. No glaring errors or problems, obviously a coherent and experienced English Language user.
No real keywords used in this one or anything targeted specifically. Good all round general advice but seems to be missing a target audience/keywords. Think about why someone would want to read the article, what information would they get from it and what would they be searching for to get an article like this?
This topic has been well written and is a very relaxed and natural piece of writing. However, choosing a key area would be beneficial.

    Suggestions:
A great article, pleased to see some one out there can write to a high quality. Your only downfall is a lack of targeted keywords really. Include some keywords that are relevant to your article.

Looking better! Still need more entries though!
