I was wondering if anyone has any information about writing articles, where to start and what is the best way to market it?

Aim for being long-term writers for private clients. You can start at Elance to find contacts, but there are plenty of people here at DP that are willing to shell out for quality articles. Simple go to the buy-and-sell forum and look for people buying articles. Quality articles are always in demand. Don't expect repeat business unless you're good, though.

There is also dailyarticle.com that would be a great way to contact new clients, and I have posted that I'm available for work in a number of free online classifieds in specific locations that would utilize the area of interest to me, and that has worked well too. hth

the most effective way is to write (or to hire someone to write for you ) your article and post on ezinearticles.com. If it is a quality article, it will get "featured" status and from my experience, all my featured articles were on first page on google within 2 days for the keyword that I was targeting through the article.

If you want to write articles, focus the article around your product or related niche. Your article should provide value to the reader...a review, a how-to article, etc. Keep the reader in mind when writing your article. The best way to market your articles is to submit it to the article directories, which are mentioned all over the internet. Do a google search on "submitting to article directories" or something like that.

The market for writing articles can be a difficult or easy nut to crack. Some of it depends on your writing skills, if you have samples to show clients, if you know how to market yourself but most of all it depends on where you want to go looking for business. There is a content creation forum on this website and it has dozens of writers trolling for jobs, nearly all pay 1-2 cents per word. Some employers even want to pay their writers less than 1 cent a word.

Good luck. You will definitely need it.
