Yep thas correct mate you can put 2 or 3 links in the bio box so if you submit to the 800 directories that would be 800x3 backlinks for 1 article.

An example of a swipe file, just say my niche is golf so i would goto ezinearticles and copy all the golf articles and save them in a folder on my hd. When i wana write a article i would simply look at what my competitors are saying and use the swipe file for ideas.

I wouldn't recommend swipe files and soem people don't know when they are going too far.
Just base your article on your knowledge fo the niche and make sure it's a topic that your market wants to rea about

I have found them to work better toward products and services.
Banging your head with Adsense Arbitage using articles is not very efficient.
Travel works great, as well as outdoor outfitters, guides, etc.

Okay, and how would you get your article placed higher up in the directory?

Yeah, you have to write articles that are in coordination with the current trends of what people are reading on the internet.

You can also make some money off article writing (aka not just for traffic generation), check out Constant Content etc, they pay for them.

Subjects I've noticed are fairly popular are health, religion, economy, gas prices, and exclusive information about the Olympics right now.

I think keeping a swipefile is a good idea. I haven't done it with articles yet, but copywriters keep swipe files of effective advertisemnts all the time.

Another benefit of article marketing is that it generates permanent free traffic. Meaning, an article that took you 15 minutes to write last year can still be sending visitors to your site today, tomorrow and for years to come (or at least as long as the article directory exists).:)

Yes I agree completely. Articles are the best way to get targeted traffics and backlinks. I have had great success with article marketing. You see, Ezinearticles.com has an Alexa ranking of only 299 and it can provide good traffics to your site. You just need to do some keyword research and coupled with a compelling article title, you can get some pretty good traffic.

As for backlinks, submititng it to the hundreds of article directories will get you a boat load of backlinks and it does not stop there. Your article will get picked up by other sites and blogs and that means more links!

While it's very effective, it's also very time consuming. But you can always outsource submission and even article writing for a small fee.

I've been reading a lot about article marketing lately, and I've read that you should make your title very specific. Like, instead of "How to Make Money with Your Blog" you should title an article "How I Made $1,492.19 in 30 Days with My Blog" - it is said to attract more readers.
