A thing that pops up around here often is "Write articles for directories". This confuses me. Why would you post your content on someone elses directory? Which directories are those? Why not just put the articles on your site (where you are making your site stronger) and digg it? That way, people who want to read actually visit. Why on earth would I visit a site, if the article is in front of me already???

They wouldn't read it again. A good article would pose some questions/problems and offer a partial solution with built in anticipation leaving the reader wanting more information. Then the resource box would include something like.... [author-name] is an expert butcher and has 600 years worth of kangaroo and veal butchering experience. You can learn all you need to know about the benefits of veal over kangaroo meat from [author-name] at yoururl.com You see how it works now?
