    Hi

    Two quick questions please

1.) Is there a tool or a search engine query that I could enter to see where my website appears in the search results for a certain search phrase?

2.) I have to author a monthly SEO performance report to my boss - highlighting how SEO has improved the visibility of the site, site visitors etc?

What is the best way of doing this ? i.e.

Take a screenshot of google analytics data before SEO work commences and then show the increase in visitors?
Take a screenshot of search position for a particular phrase before SEO and after?

    Any other recommendations

    Lauren

It all depends how you intend to put it , how much detail you need to offer your boss and whether he's expecting you to write something in from scratch .

I would encourage you to look at this : http://www.bestseosoftware.co

More specifically the "rank tracker" and "website auditor" . You can download the demo and try it out the reports it outputs are high qaulity with more detail than your boss would probably even understand , Obviously you should accompany the rank trackers report and the website auditors report with your own written recommendations, what you've done and where you feel your need to go next etc.

The main reports normally overwhelm the client with information which they love because it makes them feel like they are getting something for their money and the hand written/typed report in your own words adds the personal touch which helps them get to know you and what you can offer.

The more info you give them the more they will either love it or just tell you to get on with it and stop bugging them , either way its good for you. If however you give them a one page worded document which really doesnt mean alot and doesnt look like much effort has been put in you could find your self looking for a new client as they might not believe the money they are paying is worth the risk of the lack of presentation .

Results mean everything , but you have to sell it to the client first at least until you have a good business relationship with them.

That's a take of what i believe works and has always worked incredibly well for me.
