    Hi,

Is anyone here any good at press releases? I can write articles, but when I come to writing a press release, I am stuck!

Does anyone have any tips they can share?

    Thanks for your help!

Maybe just an example of one of your own press release that was a success. But one that I can change to promote my blog.

For what it is worth as I labored over my first press release as well. I stumbled upon a competitors press release, actually five or six of them and I found that most of them were horse hockey. After reading theirs I took the best of the best and incorporated them into mine. I had to think a bit about what was newsworthy as though someone would actually publish it and of course my local newspaper picked it up and of course I have seen it in a number of places on the web as many sites subscribe to prwebs rss feed as well as others. I wrote mine over 2-3 times, jazzed it up with a logo, picture and quoted myself and my wife as co-owners a number of times. Set it aside for a couple of days and rewrote it and finally just sent it in. It was ok, I suppose, no one called me and said I was a pinhead, yet. The second one was a loooooottttttt easier. I do think it helps reading some of your or any ones press releases. Actually most are pretty lame! But they DO work! In terms of getting you back links from a good number of places, some quite unexpected. Good Luck!!!!!!

    I am no expert but

I've put an example of one of my press releases on my site http://www.stubsy.me.uk and I've also listed some free press release distribution sites.

    Hope it helps

I would recommend hiring a professional service to do the first press release for you, and then you can just edit it for future updates. That's what I do.

Yeah, I have the same problem. Articles are not an issue for me, but I'm stuck when it comes to press releases.

I have a free e-book up at www.probusinesswriter.com that will teach you how to write a real release (not the crap articles thrown into a template you'll often see in places like this). Have a look at that if you want to learn how to do it the right way (tailored for online distribution). I also have several articles on the subject up at BizAmmo.com and NakedPR.com.

I will recommend you to hire some one to write press as it needs to be in newsworthy manner and you will be not used to it.
just check out the thread in my sig if you want.
