Friendly advice? I am a designer who has been lucky enough to be making a living on referals alone. For the first time I need to write a formal bid. What would you recommend be included, avoided, etc.
    Cheers

Just write about who you are, a brief history of your background and any experiene you have in the field of designing. Also remember to incude plenty of samples. I hope she doesn't mind me using it, but Jenn (jhmatternm on here) has an incredible intro. I'm assuming this sort of thing is what you mean: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=7929405#post7929405

here are some things that you should definitely include

    - brief introduction and a link to your portfolio
    - referrals
    - always describe how the work process will look like from customer's point of view. State the main points, such as how many drafts, how long it will take etc.
    - payments that you accept
    - refund policy
    - your contact information
