This is not a slate at non UK or US, it is just a requirement for our business.
I'm sure there are many people that speak perfect english as a second language but in our experience we find its the very small detail that usually shows up. We have lost very large contracts by not paying attention to these small details.

Just as I'm sure you know your business, so we know ours.

    I appreciate your comments

I can appreciate your position. Non-native speakers can occasionally mishandle an idiom or be a little clumsy with their English even in best-case scenarios.

However, I think blanket exclusion is a little harsh. Please note, I'm sure you know your business and I have no doubt your requirements work for you. Leaving the door open would probably only allow for a few exceptions to the rule to emerge--and there's surely time expenditure, etc. required to weed out those who don't fit your bill.

Curious about one thing, though, have you ever experienced problems using UK writers for projects aimed primarily at the US market (or vice versa). I think there is just enough difference in style and word choice to make a real difference when reading.

    Your experience on that front?

Hate to ask what might seem like a rude question, but I looked at your site out of intrigue and didn't see this answered: Are you articles guaranteed to be original content? Do you offer refunds if I run an article through copyscape and find a very close match?

Hello wrmineo, it actually does state on the site that plagiarism is not an option. We do guarantee original content and stand by copyscape or any method to find such practice. We write for some very large portals and cannot risk our reputation in any way.

    Hope this helps

    Hi monkeyads

In answer to your question; we have more problems with US writers authoring for the UK market than the other way around; but use editors to iron out the differences. The main problem we experience if using none US/UK writers is grammar and not spelling.

Yes, spelling checkers have solved some spelling checkers, but not all. Check out this old poem that someone gave me years ago.

    Spelling Checkers

    I have a spelling checker
    It came with my PC.
It plane lee marks four my revue
Miss steaks aye can knot see.

Eye ran this poem threw it.
Your sure real glad two no.
Its very polished in its weigh,
    My checker tolled me sew.

    A checker is a blessing.
It freeze yew lodes of thyme.
It helps me right awl stiles two reed,
And aides me when aye rime.

Each frays comes posed up on my screen
Eye trussed too bee a joule.
The checker pours o’er every word
    To cheque sum spelling rule.

    Bee fore a veiling checkers
    Hour spelling mite decline,
And if we’re laks oar have a laps,
We wood bee maid too wine.

Butt now bee cause my spelling
Is checked with such grate flare,
There are know faults with in my cite,
Of nun eye am a wear.

Now spelling does not phase me,
It does knot bring a tier.
My pay purrs awl due glad den
With wrapped words fare as hear.

To rite with care is quite a feet
Of witch won should be proud,
And wee mussed dew the best wee can,
    Sew flaws are knot aloud.

Sow ewe can sea why aye dew prays
Such soft wear four pea seas,
And why eye brake in two averse
    Buy righting want too please.
