I'm seeing a number of posts where people feel sour about writing sometimes. They get writer's block or they just can't get that energy or enthusiasm going. This leads to sluggish work flows and lower profits. I've been a professional writer and illustrator for over 30 years and I've never, ever had a problem with writing anything and I'll share some secrets that might help you out. First of all, never think of your writing as a job or chore. It's not. It's a well earned gift that you took the time to pursue and develop. Always look at it as something fun. If you have to write an article about how to get mud off your shoes, then write a funny joke about it before you write the article and promise yourself a treat at the end by writing something else funny like a poem or a joke. Keep writing on a fun level ALWAYS or you will drag yourself down or burn yourself out. Look at each assignment as a game. If it's a topic you're unfamiliar with then realize you're about to do some research and become knowledgeable about it. You're being paid to study and get smarter! Helloooooo? If you feel like you have writer's block there's an easy way to get through that. Turn on your computer's recording device and talk about it to the computer. What is the topic of the article or book or story? How would someone else approach it? How about if it was a stand up comedy routine by your favorite comedian? If you have a friend around talk to them about the project and record what you say about it. Let them ask you questions and you'll see that the audience or reader would be doing the same thing. Writing isn't easy for everyone but the more fun you inject into it the more easy it becomes. When I write for clients like here on Digital Point they may come from various countries around the world. I make sure I chat with them, get them enthusiastic about it too and then dive right in. It's their hard earned money they're investing in articles, ebooks, copywriting and I have to give it my best and that means approaching the project from the right perspective. So drop the drudgery and make your work fun.
All you've done here is to indicate what you do when "you're not in the mood to write". Why didn't you simply post on my thread with that title? Why on earth would you create a duplicate thread with the *EXACT* same subject?
Like that other guy (maybe this guy?) did a few threads back when he combined three threads into one of his, based on his answers. Bleh.
Big words from a little person. A regular keyboard commando no doubt. Well junior, I'll be welcoming you on this forum.
