I have been arduously working on developing my WordHire project. It's a platform that allows people to write articles for money as well as allows people looking for website content to buy articles. Everything is done on a per word basis, so writers are paid by the word and buyers pay by the word. I am finally at the point where I can get some writers in the system to start writing articles so that they can make some money and at the same time provide some feedback to me on what features they would like to make the process easier or better for them. Writers receive 2 cents per word and are paid on a weekly basis via PayPal or Check (your preference) and would of course be paid for their work while testing. I think that this is a solid way for people that are familiar with writing articles to make some cash as well as a great way for new people to business to make some immediate income for their effort while honing their skills for their own endeavors. My goal here is to make this accessible to anyone that would like to make some extra cash in their spare time. You don't have to be a pro at writing articles. Here are some questions I was recently asked: - Do you have any minimum requirements for the articles? ( article length, keyword density, etc ) Article requirements are fairly loose. When a writer logs in they see a list of topics available to write an article about. Each topic will have a minimum amount of words required (at this time it's either 500 or 1000 words). A writer is free to go over this but is only paid for up to 10% over the minimum amount of words. This is to ensure that a buyer doesn't have to pay for an article that's 5000 words and that the writer will always have money covered to be paid. There are also keywords listed which are intended to be used within the articles. Keyword density isn't so much of an issue so long as the article flows naturally. - Should article delivery be within any specified time frame, or that's something writers discuss with customers on each individual project? Article delivery is whenever you want it to be. However, you risk not having the topic available if someone else goes about submitting an article for that topic before you do. On a side note, someone suggested something to me that should be implemented within the next 1-2 days in which it will allow a writer to reserve a topic for up to 24 hours to prevent someone from submitting an article on that topic before they do so that they have some time to properly research it. Writers and buyers never interact with each other. - I understand this will depend on the demand, but do you work with any particular niches? There are no limits on niches to buyers. Currently the main buyer in the system is for financial niches (mortgage, auto finance, debt consolidation). - Are there any limitations on the amount of articles allowed for each writer? Writers can write as many articles as they want and are only going to be limited by the number of topics that are made available by buyers. - Do writers deal with admin directly or with each customer ? Meaning: if an article is approved by admin but rejected by the customer for some reason, or the customer just backs down, do writers still get paid? I am the admin and am the one that reviews articles to make sure they're for real and are no topic. I am available to talk to anyone at any time if there is an issue or a question. The system is set up in such a way to fully protect writers/buyers/myself from making certain that a topic will only be live if there is enough money on the buyers end to cover paying the writers work. If a buyers account runs out of money to cover a topic that is live, it's made not live. So you will always get paid for your work! - Are you also accepting affiliates at this point? At the moment I think it's best that I don't accept affiliate quite yet because I think it's going to be infinitely easier for them to refer more writers than buyers currently have topics available to write about. That's kind of one of the points to this beta test in order to gauge how quickly a group of writers burn through whats available for them to write. When the affiliate program is available though I wholeheartedly believe it will make people quite a bit of money in and of itself since it's based off of percentages of what a writer makes or a buyer spends. Yeah, a couple of people are having problems with the re-captcha solution. I am working on having that changed for something a little bit better. I found myself having to refresh the actual captcha a few times in order to be able to get something readable enough. An update! The topic reserve system is now live and functional. This allows writers to reserve a topic for 24 hours so that they have the ability to research/write an article at their leisure without having to worry about someone doing it before them. The writer simply selects a topic to reserve and it is removed from the master list of topics. If the writer submits an article for their reserved topic they will be able to reserve another topic. If the 24 hour period expires the topic is released from their 'reserve' and is once again available to everyone. The writer has the ability to 'unreserve' a topic at any time so that they can reserve another if they desire. oh and a new captcha on the sign-up pages. Still looking for writers.
How much time would this entail on a week by week basis? Part time commitment or potential for longer growth?
@joe As little or as much as you want really. That's the point. If someone wants to go at it full time to make as much as they can that's great, but at the same time if someone wants to make a few extra bucks in their spare time that's great also.
