I just got an email, spam I presume, promoting Wrigleys. I didn't notice any limits on the offer and when I double checked there were none Wrigley's Survey - Complimentary Year Supply of Wrigley's<br>or a Restaurant Gift Card but when I clicked they said "We're sorry, the offer is not available in your area". So, scumbag spammers, why send it in the first place? And what is a company like Wrigleys doing outsourcing their online marketing to scumbag spammers? Do they not care about their reputation? Or are these scumbag phishers, exploiting the wrigleys name, just like they do with eBay and PayPal?
There are many affiliate networks that promote this kind of stuff. However, they all have a strict policy of not allowing any kind of spam, they will terminate any spammers affiliate account without any objections if they catch them. And most of those offers are only for people in the US or Canada, that's why you got that message.
So why send it in the first place? If they've got my email from any reputable source they would know I'm not in the USA or Canada (by using my IP address) or they would have a warning, disclaimer in the email.
Bet spammers bought CD with addresses, had program not smart enough to check to see if addresses belonged to US/Canada residents, and just had it automatically generate spam. I am to point I do not open e-mails if I do not know sender or unless it has very meaningful subject line. Shannon
i can live with email spam, if my mail doesn't come from somewhere i recognise, it just gets deleted. people attempting to submit stupid stuff thinking its going to be published is WAY more irritating. this was submitted to my classifieds site, 3 times earlier, 'I HAVE A VERY SENSITIVE CAMERA OF A SPY JET PLANE THAT I BOUGHT IN THE AFGHANISTAN FROM A WARIOR TRIBAL MAN ....NOW I WANT TO SELL THIS CAMERA IF ANY ONE IS INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT ME ....' yeah buddy...and i have a nuke pointed at your house !!
So you opened up a spam message, followed the link, didn't find what you expected and you are complaining?
Pay 20 pounds and you can spam the world!! http://cgi.ebay.com/451-million-ema...ryZ26261QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Duh, I didn't realise it was spam! I've given 1 research firm and 1 NZ free samples company permission to email me with offers just like this one. The layout etc was similar to their emails. I'm not a child, so I don't chew gum but I'm always interested by the questions that are asked and the survey tools applied.
That's crazy. Everyone chews gum here. A lot of the commercials for gum use couples in their 20s and 30s on TV. Apparently gum is very romantic, too. I just like the flavor though. So when's the last time you chewed gum?
When I was a teenager, you do the maths. We have ads for a brand that supposedly helps clean your teeth after eating and I know a school dental nurse who thinks it's great. But then, in the community she's in, all the little kids have fillings and extractions so anything that helps is good.
The dancing is only for grownups The goo on corn chips is for everyone. Sadly I react to something in processed corn (ie corn chips) and have to limit how much I eat. One of life's tragedies!
It sounds very much like some of the forum spam I get - Free ipod! etc. Click the link - oops, wrong area! Redirects to something like a "get rich quick!", financial services, or whatever. Simply spam trying to gain untargeted traffic.
