the site is here: www.bedroomtalent.com In the footer section you should see 5 network ads and then a load of my own static adds. however, when you then go to the guestbook: http://www.bedroomtalent.com/guests/ and view the source code and scroll right down to the bottom you will see the ad_network code about 15 links up and it has not parsed, the raw php is being outputted I've checked that both my ad_network.php and my .txt file are both chmod 777 and also I've got the most uptodate version of ad_network.php uploaded. Is it something to do with the guestbook script? (its the advanced guestbook script available in most CPANEL hosting packages) which is made up of php files. Many thanks for any help Regards, Mark
Thanks Shawn, Why do you think that has happened? Could it possibly be something to do with how I've installed the ad_network elements? I wonder if you'd be so kind as to try and think of a workaround in this instance? Many thanks Mark
No idea... it has to do with your guestbook script though. Beyond that I can't say because I've never seen the source code to your guestbook script and how it works. If you can't add it to the guestbook script, one thing you could do is disallow search engines from spidering it so it would never come up for validation.
Brilliant, I didn't realise that's how it worked (well actually I still don't know how it works) but I've updated my robots.txt to ban spiders from my /guests/ folder and my site has now validated. I'll probably ask this forum if anyone has found a way to work with this particular guestbook script. thanks mark
