Can anybody help me with this... whenever i try to upload a pic on my server with the wp image uploader it says this "Unable to create directory /wp-content/uploads/2008/10. Is its parent directory writable by the server?" can you tell me please whats wrong? what permission should i set and which directory? In default, parent directory is set to writeable. So, you shouldn't got those message. Try to uploading / creating thread using ftp software. Or check your server storage. It could be your server is full and you forgot to delete all item on "trash"
The server storage is not full. I checked that. I changed the permissions also after contacting the web hosting support but its still not working. God knows why. Maybe i will have to re-install the WP again.
ok i solved the matter. My wordpress upload directory had to be changed from "/wp-content/uploads" to "wp-content/uploads" there was nothing wrong with permissions i guess. Now its working with the same permissions.
you need set 777 permissions to wp-content/uploads folder which will solve the problem. and if you already have any folders inside that folder like 2008 then set the permissions to that too. if you need any help on this please PM. am happy to help you
