WP theme on wordpress.org

    Could you please tell if its profitable to create a free theme and put it on wordpress.org with link to the site where i sell the same theme with more features.

    Posting your themes on wordpress.org is a good way to get publicity. If your theme is good then people will naturally go to your site to see your other themes. What you can do is release a free theme and possibly release a "pro" version of a theme.
