I mark some comments as spam in wp blog but someone is still sending them. What i am missing? Who i can block them forever
What he said! Akismet has been a life saver for me in terms of catching spam. It's the first thing I activate everytime I install a new WP blog.
Try the math-comment plugin. Most spam come from robots and this is a simple plugin requesting the result of a small math equation (2+3=?). No more spam for you. And of course Akismet is a lifesaver!
that's of course an option, but it can bring negative results. People who want to leave a comment, maybe don't want to register. For the next week keep track of your comments and see if they decrease. If they do, you know who is to blame!
Akismet plugin will solve the problem and won't require your readers to register to comment. Also spamkarma is amazing. The above two plugins can solve your problems. I believe akismet is now installed with WP as standard it just needs setting up. Spamkarma can be found at http://unknowngenius.com/blog/wordpress/spam-karma/ Although i haven't used it with the latest version of WP. If it fails, Use akismet. Hope that helps. DK
