Hi, I'm using a default wordpress theme, and wanted to add a link page across the top. Is this a "plugin"? Or is it based on the theme I pick?
Not sure what you mean by "wanted to add a link page across the top." If you mean that you want the header to link to another page, you'll need to edit the file called header.php and change the hyperlink. If you mean you want to add a set of links (either navigation or external links), some themes have it built in, others don't. Either way, you can include a set of links by editing either header.php (if you want it on ALL pages) or the individual files (index.php / page.php / home.php) to choose where you want the links to appear.
Hi, Some theme have the menu links to WP static pages laid out across the top of the page. (My theme would be an example). Every time a new static page is created, a link to the static page is automatically inserted at the top of the page. Usually links, which are added via the manage Links page within WP's Admin, are included in one of the side columns, since a blogger may want to include many links (e.g. Blogrolls) on a page. I hope this answers the question you were asking. Rich
