hey there: is ther e an option in wordpress to set your posts so only a "teaser" shows up on the main page, not the entire article? Thanks.
You can use the "more" tag when you're writing the post. In visual mode, it's next to the image icon (the tree) on the right hand side. Just type how much you want to display then hit that. It inserts a line and everything else will show only when they view the entire thread. You'll see a "read more of this entry" will appear on the front page now at the cut off point. Hope that helps.
You could also try the "excerpt" option if you don't want just the first paragraph or so of your thread showing up. It's under the main text box. Just type in whatever you want and that'll display instead when you save your post as normal. Sometimes that works better depending on your template layout and the amount of space you want it to take up.
hey im not using the visual editor, do you happen to know the html code that i can mannually add after each teaser?
If you're in the html mode when you write a post, you'll see the word "more" on a button instead. It does the same thing. Comes up in your post like this : <!--more-->
You're very welcome, anytime. Give me a shout by PM if you get stuck with it and I'll try help you further.
