Hey guys, I have a wordpress website thats doing pretty good. However I do get a lot of spammers typing in random stuff and then adding external links in the comments. I already have askimet, bad behavior, and Captcha. However, most of the times if the spammer just writes a half way decent sentence and enters captcha correctly, the comment will post with the link. I'd love to have a plugin that redirects any link in my comments to a preapproved web address that i have, such as the homepage. I have thousands of posts and i cannot manually go through each comment. Is there a wordpress plugin that does something like this?
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-js-external-link-info/ This plugin masks all external link. Not sure if you can customize it for comments only. Anyways you can make links in comment as no-follow to avoid spam. Guess by default it's no follow.
That plugin only warns people that you are leaving the existing site and entering an external link (which can be handy) but still not what im looking for.
WP Traffic Tools (http://www.wptraffictools) will cloak links in comments and nofollow them too. But what you really need is a anti-bot measure such as "1+1=?". This should kill 99% of the spammers out there. (But not the manual commenting spammers, but most of them are nice and will write a halfway decent comment!)
