I'm looking to make a site where anyone can register and post, but I'd like all the posts to be in the same format (ie. contain the same fields). So in essence, authors wouldn't see the typical Wordpress admin panel, they'd see a custom panel with predefined fields that they could then fill in, and post. Is there anything like this? If not, is there anyone who has the knowledge to code something like this?
I could do this, however it would not be too cheap, though the price will be reasonable. Therefore, I suggest you look at other options first.
Dashboard > general tab > anyone can be registered, check this box. then go to dashboard > users > set role as author. see this option will work for u?
