Hi all, quick question: that you know of, does using WordPress blogs with DoFollow plugins damage your site's SERP? thanks
not if you do it right, until maybe you get to insane amounts of comments. done right it helps more than it hurts
I get what you mean... the reason why I'm doing this is that I figured it would help me make my visitors more responsive. I get lots of search engine traffic but they never comment, but maybe if they already see 10 or 15 relevant comments already there they might be more willing to contribute too.
- all wordpress pages are intensely linking between each other usually, thus passing some amount of link juice to each other. Having external links on some of them will make some link juice "leak" and pages that were previously/usually getting it won't be getting as much. So there might be a slight danger of serp reduction but it's generally neglectable if your blog is good - you are risking to get spammed by comments from "seo professionals" who are hunting for do-follow blogs... So I say you can try that and see how it goes, nothing lethal will occur... And you are right, generally seeing existing comments one wants to contribute as well. You might just need to do a lot of pre-moderation. Cheers
It won't if you enable akismet and moderate comments. Some of your PR will obviously leak out but overall changing a blog to dofollow has more positive effects. 1. You get links from dofollow directories / lists 2. You get traffic from dofollow search engines.
