I've been using various sources to find DoFollow blogs to comment on with great success but this week on 99.9% of blogs when I try to comment it goes to the blank 'wp-comments-post.php' screen or the screen refreshes back to an empty comment box with no 'comment awaiting moderation'. Is anyone else getting this problem? Is it possible that a wordpress update has made all these blogs useless until they update? have I somehow got my IP banned from wordpress (didn't think that was possible) Some Examples http://bestautodesign.com/loder-1899-ford-focus-rs-review/comment-page-1#comment-113 This is dated today: but I cannot comment? http://www.automotive-freaks.com/au...nce/how-to-get-the-best-car-insurance-quotes/
Basically, this means that you've been blacklisted by Akismet, normally because you've been spamming. Your comments will get submitted, but will end up in the blog's spam section, so you'll probably find that only a very small number of your comments get accepted. The reason you can probably comment on a very small number of blogs without problems is because they don't use Akismet.
Is there a way of undoing that? I find this supprising as I always contribute to the post with 50+ words and never put keywords as anchor text, always a name. Why does it go to a blank screen, why is there no error message? Why doesnt it say submitted if it's going to their inbox? Cheers, Steven.
If there was a way of undoing it I would have done it myself. I have exactly the same problem. I've tried contacting Akismet a few times and never had a response back from them. About the blank screen, I'm not totally sure why it does that. It doesn't really make much sense.
I've figured it out, it's one of my Clients, their URL is banned! I've just tried posting on a problem page with one of our URLs and email and it's fine. According to Babara Ling in THIS POST the solution is to contact Akismet introduce yourself and your site (put spaces in your URL so you dont end up in their spam inbox) explain you make constructive comments and do not think you should be banned, then the customer service representative you speak to should give you a second chance.
