First of all you will want to try and get your host to restore your blog from a recent backup if data has been deleted. Then you'll want to make sure your blog is updated to run the LATEST version of Wordpress. Older versions of Wordpress can have known security issues and it is always wise to stay up to date. Also - change your FTP and WP admin password to something different and complex, just in case they got in that way. Hope this helps. Aaron
I have written an article keeping the same security points in mind, you can read it to be on the safer side in future here is the link for the thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2119684
cpanel hacked or the blog ? If its the cpanel contact your webhost asap if its the blog then you can reset the password from your cpanel (phpmyadmin)..
Hmm...If you blog has got hacked then the best method is contact the web hosting company and request for a older back up. Next time be sure that you have a local back up too. cheers Josh
After you've changed your password, and got a back up restored if you needed to, download some wordpress security plug-ins. If you can download one which will scan your site for any malware/malicious codes, and/or if you have a virus scanner in cPanel run that as well. Also check your files to see if anything new has been uploaded, if they got access to cpanel they may of uploaded stuff like phishing sites which could get your website pulled. If your not going to restore your site, I recommend you download tripwire logs plugin for wordpress to check if any of your files were altered by the hacker, and replace any which were altered.
