I just ran a Yahoo search (http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=hi...ssweb=Search&ei=UTF-8&fr=slv1-bkt1&fl=0&x=wrt) and was very surprised at what I saw on the top fold of the page. Instead of the traditional Yahoo banner their is now a frame containing the actual web site of a featured advertiser! Talk about a way to get your PPC ad noticed.
Are you sure you don't have any adware/spyware/malware installed on your system? I seriously doubt yahoo would start loading frames like that.
You have installed a hi-jack from an advertising company - to see for sure go to MSN and Google and do the same search and you will get a window on them also. I will get some names for you if I remember them. Let me guess, you got a call and someone was showing you how they can get you to 1st place on all search engines? Or you downloaded some free software for something else, but like spyware it was hidden in the install.
I still think you have some malicious stuff on your computer! Are you repeatedly able to pull up the ad? Have you tried from a different computer? Edit: Do you have Zango Games/180Solutions/Metrics Direct installed?
None of the above. Besides, one of my companies is actually an SEO company But I won't rule out spyware - it seems someone else used my PC yesterday, and among other things changed security settings. However, neither Spybot, Adaware, or the Yahoo spy checker (all with updated signatures) has picked anything up. I flushed the cache files and cookies, but it's still there. I'm going to dig deeper on this one.
Hell, I had my girlfriend get on my main computer for 1/2 hour..the next day I had to uninstall TWO search bars... "But all I wanted was some xmas desktop background pics! I swear"
I found it. Thanks for everyone's insight. I was able to find out what was happening by right-clicking on an image in the top left corner of this spyware frame. I saw that the image was from secureservicepack.com, then was able to find out where there dll was hidden.
