Joomla's a great base to work from.

True its not easy if you've never used it before, and the whole menu's and categories/articles system can be confusing at first. Its worthwhile getting used to it though. Its a great base to work from if you want to expand the site later on.

yep never really got the hang of joomla can do a lot in it though
drupal seems ok enough though at least the ui isn`t a pain in the ass
add phpnuke to fugly and idiocy and your nearly there

actuallly i hated joomla so badly for a long while then a bit less and now i just avoid it like the plague why bother when there are so many better and user friendly options around IMO

Joomla works best if you can find a coach.....someone you can call or e-mail with all of your questions. I have it on one of my sites and love it! The only thing I don't care for is having to upload images before or after you create a post.

Self taught Joomla user and proud of it! LOL

Oh yeah it was a pain to learn and still learning but once you get the hang of it like everything else it's very powerful as a CMS... IMHO of course. ;)

    Agree.

Once you got used to Joomla it feels nice. But I had a frustrating experience with Drupal and left it off.

You should win an award of some sorts(not kidding)! I spent hours getting nowhere with it before I waved the white flag for help.

I am using joomla! for a year and it is great. If you have some problem its probably the best to look at official joomla forum and search for problem solution.

I found drupal impossible to istall - I'll give it another try in the future, with more 'drupal-friendly' hosting because I'd like to learn it. But that's really the point - you have to learn how to use it.
I like joomla - I had some problems getting used to it at first, but it didn't take long. I think it's good for the brain to learn something new!

I had the opposite experience. I couldn't get the hang of Drupal at all. Joomla had a steep learning curve, but if you stick with it long enough, you''ll get it eventually.

If one can not figure out how to use something then it should be immediately labeled "Bad".

I'd label it POWERFUL, but not intuitive.

And I know of very few programs that are easily picked up with only a 2 hour investment.

Both joomla! and Drupal are great and we need time to learn how to use it.

I am now using Joomla! and it works well.

Joomla is awesome. But it's true you probably need a couple of days to get used to it.
