If it happened, it was something on your end that auto-filled it.

    1. The password field has always been a password field so you can't see it if you type it anyway.

    2. We don't know what your password is even if we wanted to. It's stored internally as a md5 hash which can't be decrypted.

    3. Do you really think the forum is randomly showing your login and password to everyone in the world? It would be pretty coincidental if it picked yours and out of hundreds of thousands of users, you were the the first/only one to report it.

I think it's just a bug or even a glitch (apologies for my technical terms xD) as I have encountered it as well however, when I tried to refresh it, it went back to the way it was. Also, it is type="password" so any text input will not display as letters but dots or asterisks. Say your password was shown on your browser and can be seen on your browser, don't panic! that is still just your browser and no one aside from yourself can see your password (not unless you logged in your account at a net cafe and someone is behind you looking at your password).

As Shawn said, even themselves (mods) don't know your password as it is encrypted, so how do you think the rest of us normal users would even know your password?

Shawn, I have seen this same thing on a couple of vbulletin 4 forums - it has happened to me here, and on another VB 4 forum.

In both cases, I tried entering my account information before the page finished loading. My account information is not saved, so its not an autofill problem.

If anything, its an issue with VB4 and is not limited to digitalpoint. I did a search of vbulletin.com but did not find anything right off the bat.

Gonna have to disagree there... vBulletin has no mechanism to auto-fill username or password, and even if it did, vBulletin doesn't know what your password is so it wouldn't be able to even if it wanted to. vBulletin stores it's password as an md5 hash, and no where does it store the actual password. So if you are seeing your actual password auto-filled, it HAS to be client side (again... vBulletin couldn't tell you what your password is even if it wanted to).

    It's not an auto-fill issue.

It's just that when the user fills in the password, he can see the password and not those dots.
