WOW, Hard work has just paid off.

Being new to SEO is so hard and learning about the thing you should and should not do is also confusing.

Over the past few weeks I worked so hard in building link backs ETC.

Now we are starting to get rankings to show for our keywords. Keyword we are ranked best for is "Dedicated Servers Dual Xeon" On Live. and we are the top of page 2.

I think this is a great achivement for my self as i have not much SEO knowledge and nearlying ranking top for a web hosting related keyword is also hard in my eyes.

Just a few more hours of hardwork i think should improve to first page.

This is not a new project we have not long redesigned the website and its hard to get rankins for web hosting keywords. Hopefully I keep learning more and improve our rankings.

 

Congratulations... can i suggest maybe you help some newbies, and link them to where you found your info to learn etc. Since it'll help them heaps, and maybe even earn you some posotive rep. Again congratulation, and good luck with getting on the first page

 

Well because Web hosting is such a hard market We decided to narrow down our keywords more instead of just the dedicated servers keyword.

The SEO was done in two parts. We made sure we had a decent keyword density for the keywords we wanted to try to rank high for.

The second part was good old Directory submission. Cant realy say how many accepted but i submited to a good few that allowed deeplinks. which also helped

The 3rd step was to create a promo on our dedicated servers where we can post on various forums.

Combine all these 3 together then we get our postion where we are on Search Engine. I am looking for more feedback on ways to getting ranked on first page.

Most social bookmarks are not much use to us to link our website.

 

after changing the search keywords around I found that we are 4th on the first page!!!

It is good that you are already doing good in serps.

Btw....how is the traffic stats? Have you started seeing the improvement in the same as well?

Sounds nice, I am sure you are learning, which is the most important but that phrase has low competition on Gooogle (under 150k) and you would be able to obtain top three ranking with very few decent backlinks using that anchor. In fact with quotes you competition is only around 450, so keep up the good work but you might need to target key phrases that can bring you more traffic.

 

The traffic is quite low coming from Live but I only hope when google updates we have a decent ranking. We were 85th Yesterday on google.

Because its Dual Xeon Dedicated servers the searchs per day is quite low but I am still learning so ranking nearly first on anything related is quite an achivement. Now our aim is to work on less accurate keywors and maybe rank higher for dedicated servers.

 

I highly recommend finding high page rank webmaster and web design related forums - page rank of 6 and 7, there are many out there. And make sure that you post on each forum a few times and create a signature file with a link back to your site. Also I recommend using different anchor text in your sig files - don't always create them with the same exact text. And also link to various pages within your site, not just your main page. You want your entire site's pages to start getting page rank and traffic, not just the main page.

If you comment on high page rank forums - don't go overboard, but pick about five to start commenting on - you should build traffic and page rank for your site. Unfortunately though you are really going to have to start targeting higher competition keyphrases - different server related keywords probably - to start seeing a flood of traffic. In going after those higher competition keyphrases you definitely need to be using the power of commenting on extremely high page rank forums - and fortunately some of the highest page rank forums on the Net are webmaster and web design related, so you'll also have a built in target audience for the products you're selling.

Hi Dan we do have traffic coming from forums but this is just out first SEO attempt to get Serp Rankings.
