    hey confused, you were definitely not the last person to receive the mail. its just that we were discussing it on the basis of the updates at paypal-apac and later, their official blog entry.

    i think, the confirmation mails started coming only after 4:30 am of 31st, IST

    When from the cheque mode is also known as bank wire?

    Bankwire is a very BIG method of shit when it comes to transaction costs.
    ITS ONLY advantage is reliability and may be 6-7day of so called quick payment! (thats quick..lol)
    SENDER banks charges money
    RECEIVING bank charges money (sometimes)
    FOREIGN EXCHANGE RATES of both banks are be like such that you won't get those bad rates anywhere else.
    (Esp. indian banks are notorious for charging the most worst exchange rate)
    and if thats not enough, there come the INTERMEDIARY banks (if involved), they bite the cake big too!

    Overall, paypal EFT will send some Rs 13500 for 300$ and same amount can be anything from 11,600 to 12600 on bank wire!
    I have tested it a lot of times with bank wires from other sources!


    P.S. Often flat rate fee of 20$ is charged. It may b something good if one is transferring lakhs and crores of money, of course if banks involved has flat rate fees.
