Will me running a WOW Gold online store(World of Warcraft) be illegal? I plan to launch a website similar to ige.com. My location is India. Please advice.
this bothers me: http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/po...ents-Over-World-of-Warcraft-Gold-Farming.html but doesn't the country of residence make any difference?
Well, The keywords to look out for on that page - Fraud, Fraudulent Bank Accounts, Linked with terrorism. Governing enforcement agencies will usually investigate such matters on the grounds of strange financial activity, the way to avoid this is by paying the proper tax on your earnings, and taking money through a well known vendor such as paypal. Its also a bad idea to talk about price explosions ingame. Blizzard does not allow the sale of its currency, as it views it as its personal virtual property, they have been known to take legal action against those that affect their property in the past. This is avoidable if you hire someone good to write your disclaimer, or closely follow one from a goldseller that has been around a long time. You will also have to follow certain rules while trading. Blizzard will take action against you by closing your accounts, they do this both to deplete your gold supplies, and cause you to purchase more accounts. Its not that illegal so go for it, but only if you know what you are doing, otherwise youl make no profits.
1) What if I do not actually trade but just be an Affiliate? 2) Would Blizzard's TnC apply in India too?
You agree to the default Blizzard T&C universally on installing the game, playing an installation for the first time, signing up to Battle.net, etc etc. So no, you aren't any safer in India. If you sell gold as an affiliate then you aren't a goldseller, as you would not need to interface with the game, or own accounts.
