Sorry, had to post this :D Set my Amazon aStore up about three days ago and already have my first sale :D It's kind of exciting, I wanted to try something new and its already proving to be a good start. I am pretty new to advertising and other products other than PPC types, so here's to a better program.

I am starting to wonder, I run a gaming site, if it would be the type of niche better off with this type of prgram? Thoughts?

Thanks. Because of this, I've been reading around more about these types of programs, and it seems Amazon doesn't pay too well? Ah well, still gonna test the waters, liking it so far.

Congrats! Yeah I just opened my first Affiliate store on December 5th. Before I put the webpage together, I heard a lot of things about amazon paying very small compare to commission junction. I figured since not too many people are using amazon because they're using commission junction instead, then I should go with the less popular one. Besides, from my personal experience, I've been ripped off on buying from ebay 2 times this year. I always know that amazon will come through and if not, I can always get my money back.

Amazon, may not pay such great commission, but the do have a huge range of products and are trusted by many consumers. Because of this, I believe that conversion of clicks to sales, will be greater for most situations.

I would rather earn 5% commission on 100 sales than 10% on 10 sales.

Already up to three sales, I am sure I found something that works now :D I haven't heard much of commission junction, but the point about Amazon being trusted is one reason I decided to use it.

My conversion rates seem unbelievably great over the past few days, with none or my reports putting below 30%. Not sure if this really is good, but it seems to be a great figure to me :D

    Congrats on the first bites.

As with anything, you'll have a higher sales % with fewer sales and/or lower-priced items. These numbers mean nothing on a large scale--only when comparing period to period results within the product line.

The bottom line is earnings. You could have a 50% conversion ratio, 20 sales and $20 in earnings. Meanwhile, someone else has a 5% conversion ratio, 2 sales and $80.

Since we're all utilizing different product mixes, one person's conversion ratio means nothing to another person and vise versa.

I have a main site that I link to the aStore with (no other promotion), and have the site look built into the aStore CSS. It's not the nicest thing ever, but the aStore doesn't give you much flexibility with the way its coded.

If you wanna see, check out the link in my sig, link to the store is in header. Feel free to buy something :D
