Wow! - can signature links have such a big impact?

Once again I checked one of my domains and it's pagerank. It suddenly was up at pagerank 3. I then checked the backlinks, it had about 600 backlinks, most from forums.

Does the signature link in forums have such a big impact on the pagerank? I never though about the signature links as a good way to get backlinks, but...

Any thoughts on this? Are signature links in forums a good way to increase the pagerank or can it "backfire" in some way?

 

Most links in forums are dofollow, so yes, it helps.

 

Posting on niche related dofollow forums can really help in giving a boost to your traffic and also up your pagerank.

Second.. yes.. they can be very beneficial.. Especially on forums related to your content like Sticker said.

I have checked the backlinks for some popular niche-related sites and many backlinks come from forum posts...either by the owner of that particular site, or by other people that like the sites and naturally link to them.

Signature links in forums have been used successfully to get back links since at least four years back

 

Hehe..I'm a little behind. I've never thought much about backlinks before, but been a little more aware now

They can also help your SERPs and if you are posting in the right forum they would increase your traffic. You would be reaching your target market.

 

Posting in forums kills 2 birds with one stone. You achieve a backlink and also the potential to attract visitors.

 

concentrate on using forums that are related to your website to get the greatest benefit out of signature links

 

Approximately 312 pagerank 7 backlinks is obviously beneficial

 

Congrats on Making PR3 I tend to focus on using Backlinks at Niche-Related sites of my product which then helps to not only create Backlinks, but to Attract many visitors aswell which is a double Bonous. So far it has worked for me using only little promotion but tonnes of backlinks.

Which forum is that?

 

Its all about threads that spend long time in the first page which is usually PR5 - PR6 on DP

 

It will help a lot especially if it's a dofollow forum signatures. If you browse across the forum, sometimes you could come find one or two threads with the first page having PR and that is where you gain automatic backlinks.

 

Yes I Have noticed a good jump in my pagerank and I think it has something to do with forum signatures.
